The Wonders of being Outside!

Outside we go to play,
I wouldn't have it any other way.
We lie on the grass waiting for the clouds to take shape
While that happens I make something out of sellotape.
We watch as the sky goes dark,
Whats that light?
It has left a bright spark.
It's the space station it's always bright,
It's a big huge cylinder,
But it's never really in sight!
Bedtime now I see the big bright moon!
It will be gone soon, very soon.
Up and out in the good fresh air!
I'm still in my pj's and it's getting cold, but I don't care:)
All I can see are the swing and slide
Waiting for me to have a little ride.

Outside I wish we could go to play ,
I wouldn't have it any....other....WAY!!!!

Ginger Cats and Purple Bats.

Once I met my weird cousin Pat.
Who told me about his unusual love of mats.
He had one story about him and his favourite red mat.
One day I found a rather distinct looking hat on my favourite red mat.
I put on the hat and sat on the mat.
And off the mat went to a place called Katmandu.

When I got to Katmandu I saw a ginger cat.
When I got off my mat I went to rub the cat it turned into a purple bat!
Then I took a look around the town it was full of fat ginger cats and small purple bats!

When I saw all the cats I knew that it was time to get back on my mat.
So back I sat on my favourite red mat and put back on the hat.
Then I turned in my bed and saw my ginger cat it was all a big fat dream!!!

The Illeagle-Eagle

Imagine if you were an eagle,
That did thing that are illegal,
Doing stuff that is evil,
And been known as the illeagle-eagle.

Going around the skies swooping,
The stuff you are looting,
Making people scared,
By telling them how you were reared.

With all that dread,
Making people's faces red
Beware of the eagle,
More like the Illeagle-Eagle

1916-The Unknown Heroes

You know the leaders,
Plunkett, Ceannt and Pearse,
Clarke, Mac Diarmada and Mac Donagh
not forgetting Connolly.
You know their story,
It's not a mystery,
They've gone down in history.

What about the rest?
No, they weren't the best,
But they played their part.
They fought for their country.
Their families killed,
And left with broken heart.

There'd be four in a bed,
They'd have only one room,
But if they went outside they'd be shot in the head.
*BOOM*

They just wanted to be free,
Their families to have liberty,
"Damn the British!" that's what they said,
"Without them our families wouldn't be dead."

"Damn the British, damn them all,
Why did they want this isle so small?"
They made the Irish fight for liberty,
But not gone was the day of chivalry.
Because the Irish, they fought back,
Because in courage they did not lack.

Our Mother

Picture
We were in the fields tending to the sheep,
We heard the screams and knew it was the Vikings who came to reap,
We ran to our village and found it destroyed,
I was devastated but my brother just looked annoyed,
We searched through the bodies and found one that filled us with dread,
It was our mother lying pale, cold and dead.

The Irish Rebels

100 years ago, the rising abolished the idea of Britain ruling us.
There was Pearse, Connolly, Plunkett, Ceannt and we know the rest.
All so brave to fight for their country.
Bombs exploding everywhere.

Bodies lying all around.
People crying, mourning their relatives.
Running around, stretchers in hand.
Men covered in khaki, shooting their guns.

People shouting, children crying.

Priests anointing, surgeons healing.
Na Fianna fighting to the core.
We the Irish will be  victorious.

The Rising

Outside the G.P.O 10 bullets were shot in each go,
By now Liberty Hall was destroyed , as all the troops were deployed,
Pearse read out the proclamation roaring for independence, as Ireland had gotten their freedom.
It was declared no longer the British!!!!
