We are pleased to announce that there will be a Night at the Dogs in aid of Cloontuskert N.S. in Longford Greyhound Stadium on the 26th of May. Your support would be greatly appreciated!
We have recently taken the Wee Pledge, a pledge which supports Ireland's free battery recycling programme. The children are not only helping the environment through their involvement in this programme but also the LauraLynn foundation. Did you know for EVERY full battery box, Wee Ireland give €5 directly to LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice. The children have already collected approximately 85kgs of used batteries so please get collecting and encourage others to help us break the 100kg mark too!
You are invited to attend our Open Evening on Tuesday the 28th of February between 6 and 7pm. Why not come along to view our school and to meet the staff who will be more than happy to show you around and answer any queries you may have. If you are unable to attend on this date, please feel free to contact the school to arrange a more suitable time/day!
It was a very special day in school today as we celebrated Grandparents Day. The children performed a collection of songs, poetry and music after the Grandparents ceremony. A special thanks to Farrell McElgunn and Paula Farrell who spoke to the children about what life was like when they were young. The children really enjoyed listening to these stories - thank you Farrell and Paula.
"Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children." Alex Haley
