Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Indoor Athletics Day at Kilbride on Tuesday 18th March. It was a great experience for all involved.
Many thanks to the two students from Lanesboro Community College, Kayleigh McDonagh and Adam Farrell who visited our school to perform the song "Somewhere Only we Know" which they translated into Irish. It was an excellent version of the song and the children enjoyed listening to a modern song being performed through Irish. Míle buíochas.
Today we are having a Tráth na gCeist (Table Quiz) as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge activities. Go n-éirí an t-ádh libh go léir.
As part of our Seachtain an Gaeilge activities all of the ranganna (classes) in the school came together and performed songs as Gaeilge as well as céilí dancing. There was great craic in the yard! Well done everyone.
It's been all go for Seachtain na Gaeilge. The páistí have been trying hard to speak as much Gaeilge as they can "timpeall na scoile" (around the school), sa seomra ranga (classroom), sa chlós (yard) leis na múinteoirí (with the teachers) agus cuairteoirí (visitors). Every day the best "Gaeilgeoir an Lae" (Irish Speaker of the Day) were awarded certs which was then added to our wall of Gaeilgeoirí. Maith sibh! (Well done).
Four of our pupils from the Senior Room represented the school at the Cumann na mBunscoil Quiz last Thurday evening in the Abbey Hotel. They did exceptionally well coming in 5th place out of 30 teams. That is a huge success for the enthusiastic quiz team made up of Rachel Flynn, Ian Trautt, Kevin Trautt and Jack Tucker. Well done to you all!!
As tomorrow is World Book Day the children will be dressing up as a character from their favourite book and should bring the book to school with them. We will have prizes for the children for their efforts, so best of luck to all!
