A big thank you to Rachael & Grace who shared with us their achievements in Irish Dancing. They brought in their collection of trophies and medals, along with wearing their costumes and wigs and shared their experiences of competing at a high level in Irish Dancing. Recently they took part in the All Ireland Feis in City West, bringing home 3 thirds and 1 highly recommended. We wish them well as they prepare for the Worlds which takes place in Castlebar this summer.
Back in February, Cloontuskert NS was chosen by the Department of Education to partake in an evaluation of SESE: Geography. The whole school had the opportunity to show all the hard work that goes on in our school, especially in the area of Geography. The Department of Education inspector was very impressed with the teaching and learning in our school. Click read more to see the report.
Congratulations to two of our pupils Éabha Kenny and Eimhín Farrell, whose poems have been short listed for the Primary School Poetry Prize as part of the Strokestown Poetry Festival. All are welcome to attend the prize giving ceremony on Friday 29th April at 6:30pm in the Percy French Hotel, where the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize will be awarded. Eabha will have the opportunity to read her poem "The Snow", while Eimhin will read his poem "The Winning Goal". Well done to both of them. We are very proud that our school has two pupils who have made it to the short list. Best of luck Eimhin and Éabha.
