This week the students from 3rd - 6th class took part in teh Cumann na mBunscol, football competition. The boys were first up and won two out of three of their games. The girls were narrowly beaten by a very strong Ballyfenney team for a place in the finals. Well done to all the boys and girls who took part!

Congratulations to Siun who came 2nd and Lauren who came 3rd in the recent Barna Recycling Easter Colouring Competition!
The pupils were busy picking up litter and weeding in school today! The grounds are looking fabulous thanks to their hard work! The Senior Room attended a soccer tournament recently in Lisnamult. Both the girls and boys team performed very well, winning a number of games. Well done to all the children for participating and thanks to Mr Connerton and Mr O'Gorman, who have been busy coaching both teams.
We were delighted to meet so many wonderful and interesting characters at school today! Well done to all the children who dressed up as a character from their favourite book to celebrate world book day. A huge effort was made to celebrate reading and creativity by the children - well done all!
Children in the Infant Room enjoyed a trip to Knock Airport recently as part of their Aistear theme 'The Airport'. Airport staff took excellent care of the group and ensured a very memorable day was had by all.
Our pupils had great success at the Roscommon Drama Festival Essay Competition. Sixth class pupil, Sinead won the overall Sixth class award for Sixth Class for her entry. Fifth class pupil, Oisin McDermott won the overall prize from entries from Cloontuskert NS. Well done to our prize winning writers, Sinead and Oisin - we are very proud of you! The children were presented with their awards at a ceremony in Roscommon County Council offices this week.
